One port-a-potty in an Arizona neighborhood is decked out in Christmas lights, KPHO-TV reported.
What better way to guide the Three Wise Men, who certainly could use a break after a long trip?
“It makes the holidays a lot more cheerful,” Gilbert resident Mark Day told the television station. “We take the kids out. We walk around and look at Christmas lights.

The Christmas commode was the idea of Gilbert resident Kirk Erickson, KPHO reported. When a neighbor was having a pool built last Christmas, Erickson was dismayed to see a 7 1/2-foot plastic toilet on his street. Erickson went on Instagram and implored his neighbors to help save Christmas.
“I woke up the next morning and two or three more strands were added,” Erickson told the television station.
More strands were added nightly, creating an unusual decoration.
The lit-up latrine was such a hit that Erickson rented one this year and invited his neighbors to decorate it.
“All I supply is an extension cord and a 40-amp breaker,” Erickson told KPHO.
“We actually dropped off little toilet paper roll ornaments,” one neighbor told the television station.
It is a feel-good story in more ways than one, Erickson said.
“Not only will this help Santa spot our house better, it will give him a bit of a reprieve, I think, in his long journey on Christmas Eve,” Erickson said.
