Officers located a woman exiting a portable restroom on the grounds of St. Francis of Assisi Church at 11 p.m. May 2. No vehicle was in sight.

The Kent woman, 57, explained that she had recently been released from the hospital and was trying to contact someone on the phone.

She was found to have an active felony drug warrant with the Portage County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested and transferred to a location to meet with deputies from that county.

A man arrived at the Gilmour Academy maintenance office May 2 wearing pajamas, requesting money and delivering a resume for employment.

He was gone before officers arrived, but his vehicle information had been noted by the staff. A check of Flock plate-reading cameras identified him as a 57-year-old Mayfield Heights man. He was contacted and advised not to return to the school.

A resident reported seeing smoke in the woods behind her home May 2. Responding officers confirmed that it was a small and contained fire coming from a neighboring street.

A resident reported May 4 that she had obtained the license plate number of a vehicle that had been driving recklessly through the area for several days.

Responding officers notified the owner of the vehicle of the complaint. She said she would speak to her son regarding the matter.

A 911 call was received from a resident May 4 stating that a home healthcare worker was not performing her job.

Responding officers confirmed that everything was OK and that there was a small disagreement over job performance.

A woman reported May 6 that her vehicle had been cut off by a white box truck while traveling west on Mayfield Road. She requested documentation of the incident in case of further involvement with the truck.
